A: Yes, variations of color, shading and texture, and the imperfections (wrinkles, veins, scratches) are natural characteristics of leather and are authentic features of the grain. These irregularities add to its natural and unique beauty. No two items will be exactly the same – this is your best guarantee of its authenticity.
Q: How should I clean my leather product(s)?
A: Use caution when cleaning your product. Cleaning can change the color or appearance of the leather. Always test the cleaning on a small invisible patch of leather before proceeding on the whole item. Avoid products like mink, oil, shoe polish and waxes when cleaning your leather.
How to Clean Your Leather Product
- Put a small amount of a gentle, moisturizing soap like Dove on a damp cloth and bring it to a gentle lather.
- Rub the damp cloth on the leather using caution not to put too much water on the leather.
- Wipe away lather with a fresh damp cloth. NOTE: Do not rinse the leather in water.
- Polish leather with a dry towel. - For best results, treat leather with a leather conditioner after it has dried completely.
